Happy Monday, everyone. Today I am talking about all things Winter fashion trends for 2021-2022. From sheer tights to mini UGG’s, old trends are coming back in full force. Winter is about being bundled up and warm but you can still look cute doing it!
I live in California so anything under 70 F is cold to me! A great way to wear any outfit this Winter is to wear fleece-lined tights or leggings under your jeans or skirts. I’ve been doing this fashion hack for years and I swear it’s a game-changer!
Winter Fashion Trends 2021-2022
1. Sheer Tights

I honestly think the number one trend this Winter is going to be tights, specifically sheer tights. No, I’m not talking about short shorts with tights (a bad time for fashion). I’m talking designer tights, polka dots, and tights over nude fleece leggings. It’s obviously too cold to wear just sheer tights in the Winter so people started wearing nude fleeced leggings under them so it can look like your skin. How genius!
2. Wool Coats

A classic but always on-trend piece are wool coats. They don’t have to be real wool, because they’re outrageously priced (in this economy??) I’ve seen a bunch of faux wool coats that could pass for the real thing and they are still very nice. I found some that are real and some faux listed above.
3. Chunky Scarfs

Chunky scarfs are just really oversized scarfs that could almost pass as a blanket. I mean they are huge, comfy, and super warm. I actually bought one from Forever 21 and it turns I may be too short for them! They would look so good paired with a wool coat though!
4. Boots

Short boots, tall boots, Chelsea boots, and combat boots are all on trend this season. I’ve seen a lot more people start to wear tall boots again. I remember when riding boots were a big thing back in the day. Now it’s all about crocodile print or smooth faux leather boots. I’m obsessed with both. Another popular boot every year is combat boots. They’re literally the perfect boot for Winter.
5. Mini Uggs

I can’t believe I am saying this but UGG’s are back on trend! They were very popular when I was in junior high and everyone had them. This season, the mini UGG’s are the new “it” shoe. They almost look like slippers but ones that are socially acceptable to wear outside. We can thank miss Kendall Jenner for bringing these ones back in style. Unfortunately, they are sold out almost everywhere! I’ve linked some places that have a few sizes left but if you sign up for their emails the store will notify you when your size is back in stock.
6. Leather Jacket w/ Sherpa

I absolutely love this jacket. It’s giving me 70s’ meets modern vibes. A leather jacket is usually structured and serious but adding in sherpa makes it cozy and laid back. These look great with jeans, skirts, and dresses.
7. Teddy Jackets

How cute are these cute! They are some of the comfiest jackets I own. They’re actually very warm! I was shopping at a store wearing one and I was actually hot in it! The perfect Winter staple if you want something cozy to wear outside of your house. It literally feels like you’re wearing a blanket.
8. Faux Leather Pants

This is a trend that is more on the edgy side but I actually think they’re cute. We’re not talking about the leather pants Ross from Friends wore. These are fitted at the waist and loose at the leg, so they’re easy to get out of! These pants look great with sneakers, boots, or heels.
9. Puffer Jacket

Puffer jackets are probably the second trendiest item this Winter season. I have seen puffer vests, jackets, and even puffer purses! It’s getting a little out of control but I still like a simple puffer jacket. They’re cute for rainy days, running errands, or going for a walk. There are a ton of different styles so don’t be afraid to branch out!
10. Knits

An oldie but a goodie. Knits have always been around but the Winter trend has been knit dresses, sweaters, vests, and tops. I think a knit dress is great for a dinner date or casual event. Paired with tall boots and they are perfect.
